Regardez plutôt comment a évolué l'estimation de ce Christ en Bronze initialement attribué au sculpteur flamand Gabriel GRUPELLO (1644-1730)

• Le 2 août 2011 son estimation initiale est de 15 000€-20 000€ (*1)

• Le 9 Décembre 2011 son estimation chute de moitié à 8 000€-12 000€ (*2)

• Le 27 Novembre 2013 son estimation s'écroule à 1 500€-2 500€ (*3)

Soit, pour un éventuel Acquéreur à la prochaine vente du 27 novembre 2013 une remise de 90% sur l'estimation initiale.

Une affaire !

Par contre, à ce prix là, l'Acquéreur n'aura pas le droit à l'attribution à Gabriel GRUPELLO car elle ne figure plus dans le descriptif.

Quelle(s) interprétation(s) faut-il donner à cet effondrement de l'estimation et à la perte de l'attribution ?

Les interprétations sont nombreuses, elles vont de la plus excusable à la plus accusatrice.

"This masterpiece is attributed to the Flemish sculptor Gabriel Gruppello, who enjoyed great esteem even in his own time. After 1695, he worked in Düsseldorf as the "Kabinettstatuarius" of the Prince Elector Johann Wilhelm of the Palatinate. This is probably the crucifix, which Gruppello presented to the future Emperor Karl V, when he later paid a visit to the artist's workshop while in Düsseldorf in 1703. The Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg is in possession of a wooden variation of this successful piece, and the tip of its loincloth, too, resembles "the leaf of a thistle abruptly withered in the sun" (L.L. Möller, Catalogue, Hamburg).
